Even though YouTube and Twitch are the dominating players in the live-streaming and gameplay video sector, there is still a huge market for people who want to share shorter, easily digestible clips on social media. This is where Forge comes in. Forge is a free app designed to simplify the process of capturing and sharing gameplay videos. The app allows you to make a short clip of a full-length video from Twitch or YouTube and share the edited clip on Forge’s own website or Facebook, Twitter and other websites and blogs as embedded HTML. Sharing of gameplay videos has become so popular that Forge has seen an impressive traction. Today, the company announced it raised $4.5 million in a seed financing round led by True Ventures and Resolute Ventures, with participation from WME Ventures.
