Monster announced recently that it has acquired Jobr, the Tinder-style job-finding app company. Like Tinder, job seekers and employers on Jobr can simply swipe through jobs and resumes. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but according to sources, the Jobr app will be integrated with Monster’s platform. The acquisition came at a time when mobile recruitment apps are rising in popularity for both job seekers and recruiters, with as much as 70% of job seekers applying for a job through their smartphones. It is said that at the time of the deal, Jobr maintains that it had “millions” of job seekers signed up and swiped more than 100 million times for jobs.
