A better way to track your network

Commentary

Social media has made the world a smaller place. Sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and others have helped us stay in touch with friends and family from all across the globe. Their user-friendly interfaces let us share photos and send messages easily, allowing us to stay up-to-date on the events in our friends’ and families’ lives. But what if there was an app that allowed you to track the exact whereabouts of people in your social networks? Wouldn’t it be great to know if a friend was nearby or know the exact location of a family member on any given day? Enter the new mobile app called Connect. What’s great about Connect is it plugs into all your social networks like Instagram, Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter, Gmail, and LinkedIn and consolidates your contacts’ locations onto a map. The app also lets you instantly communicate with your contacts from the app. You may opt to get pinged when friends visit your city or you can inform your friends if you are in their city. Connect, which was launched in February of this year, has around 2.5 million users and announced today that it has raised $10.3 million in new funding.
